Before I ever thought about putting this site together,  I saw a bag highlighted in an issue of Martha Stewart Living magazine.  I wanted it – bad.

But let’s be honest – there are a lot of bags out there –  a lot of canvas – you know, the ones you can monogram, and they come in every size you can think of.  And yes, I own several of those and they serve me well.  But they can be bulky, not flexible, and can get dirty quickly.

Enter the Skinner and Stevens incredible bags.  I was on my way to Charleston Race Week and ordered this bag in large.

What a humdinger! It is surface cleanable, pliable, rain-resistant (it got tested!) …but most important, it passed my test for pockets.

Inside there is a zippered one to stash a wallet or make up and two open pockets next to each other for your phone, glasses – anything needing quick access.  And a zip across the entire top.  The straps are firm but comfortable.  Great for a weekend bag,  a hop off the boat to pick up some provisions, or for every day.  There is a smaller one, a wristlet and a wine bag. Made in Boston, the workmanship is excellent.

If you have a favorite location that they don’t presently have, you can discuss your project with them – custom is no problem.  A seriously great gift for anyone, but particularly for those who have almost everything. And tell Anne and Lisa you saw it here!
